Secrets

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

We all have secrets that we carry with us from childhood and I suspect most secrets we still have are from our adult lives. Some are dark and I suspect most are. If we were able to tell, we would not need to keep the secret. I for one do not like a lot of secrets, nor do I keep a lot of secrets within me. There is too much time and energy trying to keep secrets "SECRET" in my opinion. Time and emotion that I can be devoting to other things.

Guarding a secret is the same as guarding one’s chastity. Those who keep a secret, whether personal or a friend’s, keep themselves chaste. Conversely, those who spread secrets damage their honor and reputation by leaving them unguarded.

If you want to tell someone a secret, be sure that you could trust him or her with your honor. He or she must be as meticulous about keeping your secret as he or she would be about his or her own honor. An unreliable person, one who is ignorant of the value of chastity, should not be entrusted with keeping your secret.

Keeping a secret and respecting the secrets of others, as opposed to prying into them, is a virtue related to self-discipline and sensitivity. Those who lack understanding cannot guard a secret, and those who do not care about the consequences of words and actions cannot be considered discreet.

It is usually wiser not to relate your private concerns to others, especially if they are unattractive, offensive, or lacking in merit. To do so can embarrass loved ones and delight enemies, and have other unpleasant consequences as well.

Hearts are created as safes for keeping secrets. Intelligence is their lock; will-power is their key. No one can break into the safe and steal its valuables if the lock or key are not faulty.

Bear in mind that those who carry others’ secrets to you might bear yours to others. Do not give such tactless people any chance to learn even the smallest details of your private concerns.

My Secret

I am trying to recall if I have any secrets I need to out. The only one that comes to mind surrounds an incident that happened in middle school. We had a boy in our class and he was vey chubby, fat even. Everyone called him butterball. He did not like that nickname but he was called that the whole school year. One day he and I got into a disagreement about something and we both got mad at each other. It was right before lunch and recess and I was the last one out of the class. Without really thinking I ran to the chalk board and wrote "Butterfall is a pig." It was realy meant as a joke..more teasing. We all went back to class after lunch and he saw that and burst into tears. The teacher demaned to know who wrote that. Noone raised a hand. She never found out and neither did he. I felt really bad as I had not meant to cause him to cry. The whole class had no recess for the remainder of the week. That was the end of that. I never did anything like that again.

Heck, today in our computerized world there are secrets called easter eggs hidden in movies, cd's and programs. I have found a couple. Thank goodness there is a website to help you find them: Easter Eggs. I wonder if we will ever find out how let the secret pictures of Saddam in his underwear out. That was supposedly a military leak.

I have found a very unusual site where you can post your secrets and noone will ever know . It is called Post Secret. After reading some of the secrets, mine do not seem so bad. Here are a couple of secrets I thought were interesting.

Final Blog Entry Names Killer

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

This was a scary article. A blogger and other family members were murdered in their own home. Of course it was someone they knew. The male blogged about the killer being donwstairs in their home. He killed the blogger and sister minutes after his last post. Sad! At least the blog allowed the police to get the killer behind bars!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Chinese student in Queens, NY, was tied to a chair and stabbed repeatedly in the chest with a butcher's knife. His sister, the ex-girlfriend of the killer, arrived a short time later and met a similar fate. What the killer didn't expect was a web log entry that placed him at the scene.
Jin Lin, 23, has been charged with the first-degree murder of Sharon and Simon Ng, of Flushing.
Nineteen-year-old Ng's weblog stated that his sister's ex-boyfriend was waiting downstairs, smoking and pacing, while Ng look for the would be killer's fishing poles. That was a short time before the slayings.
Nin confessed to police after his alibi crumbled in the wake of the web log's proclamation placing him at the scene. He said he intended to rob the siblings to finance his return trip to China.
Sam Cheung, a cousin of the Ngs, is still in disbelief.
"It's unbelievable that it was one single guy!" said Cheung, 24. "He took two lives. How can one person do this?"
The web log proves an eerie read with a string of R.I.P. posts and heavenly well wishing.
Prescious Doe Identity Finally Revealed
Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.
I was watching the news last friday and learned about Prescious Doe. I had not heard anything about her before and i wonder why. Her story is just about as bad as I have ever heard.
More than four years after her headless body was found, a child known nationally as "Precious Doe" has been identified, and her mother and stepfather face murder charges in her killing, authorities in Kansas City, Missouri, said Thursday.
Erica Michelle Maria Green was shy of her fourth birthday when she died. Officers were searching for a missing elderly man when they found her body in a wooded area near a church April 28, 2001. Her head, wrapped in a trash bag, was found nearby a few days later.
Police, unable to identify the child, named her Precious Doe. Law enforcement and the community banded together to solve the case. CNN
The parents were charged and arrested last week. Apprently the father got mad at Erica and kicked her in the head. She fell to the floor and never really got up again. For 2 days her parents let her stay there on the floor dying. After 2 days she no longer moved. Then the parents disposed of the body. The father cut her head off and finally after all these years of missing someone called in with a tip and was able to give the police DNA from a hair brush.....it was another family member who called in the tip...and it was confirmed that the little girl was Erica. From watching the weekend news, this family member called in to the police directly about a year ago but the police thought it was a joke so they never did anything more with the investigation. The family member then decided to call the minister in that area who has been on a crusade each year to reopen the case. The minister took the same tip to the police and this time decided to act on it.
I thought that the purpose of the police was to follow up on leads..all of them...to solve cases. This was not a tip, this was the identiy and dna to prove who the child was. Why didn't they act on it? Another case of barney fife police! Unfortunatey they are everywhere.
At least the case is finally solved and Erica can be finally at peace.
This story about Erica is disturbing to me because of what I saw when I was a little girl, in the car, in the store parking lot alone in the car waiting for my parents to finish shopping. What happened that day is here: Girl in the Trunk
No one believed me. I still wonder if that little girl I saw is alive today.
