All That Glitters is Not Gold

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

All that glitters is not gold. It just might be silver. Specifically, silver bars. Silver is now coming back into demand. The amount of silver that is mined is considerably less than the need for it. The stores of silver that used to be plentiful are just about gone. Countries that used to be owners of silver stores are now buyers of silver. What does that mean for us, the average person? That means to invest and now. There is no better time to buy silver. It can be one of the best financial moves you might make as far as diversity in your financial portfolio.

Silver can be purchased in coin or bar forms. With the bars, each bar is hallmarked to certify weight and purity. With the coins, they are no longer the junk coins that are 90% pure. They have been upgraded to a .999 fine investment grade purity. How can say no to that?

Buying is the easy part. You do have two options. You can make a cash purchase outright with you silver being delivered to you via mail or you can finance your investment with at 20% down payment. To make your selection, just pick up the phone and call Monex to speak to a representative. Your purchase will be made that day via receipt of your money transfer. After a short holding period, your silver investment will be shipped to you. Easy as pie. Don't delay. Invest in silver bars now. The market and world situation can change at any time. After all, investments in precious metals has offered investors a solid way to hold and protect wealth.

Sting Revisited

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Dreamy isn't he! Just look at Sting! Just dreamy! He still is handsome and he kind of looks ageless. The Police are back together and I am of course elated! Sting was my first love before Yanni!

I was searching the web and came across this interview with him when he was on Oprah a while ago. It still is a good interview. So be sure to check it out.

Now I did not remember about the tantric sex thing until I read it again. What exactly is it? I will have to look it up. I only know very little about it. The basics?

TANTRIC SEX is meditative, spontaneous and intimate lovemaking Through it you learn to prolong the act of making love and to channel, rather than dissipate. potent orgasmic energies moving through you, thereby raising the level of your consciousness. Tantra transports your sexuality from the plane of doing to the place of being. There is no goal in Tantric sex, only the present moment of perfect and harmonious union. Tantra teaches you to revere your sexual partner and to transform the act of sex into a sacrament of love.

The Police are Back!!!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

The very first time I saw Sting and the Police was live back in the late 80's in North Carolina. I was living in North Carolina in Chapel Hill and he came to town. It has been so long I cannot be sure of the year. I lived in North Carolina from 1985-1993. I was in Chapel Hill for the first three years before moving to Durham, so Sting had to be in town in either 1985, 86 or 87. I just can't iron down the year. Prior to that I was a lover of new age and jazz and was just thrilled to death to see Sting live.

I got to go free. My best friend was married to a policeman and he had to work the concert that night. Lucky me, got to go free as of course his wife got in free and so did I. I was mesmerized. Sting and I got married that night! His wife Trudie just does not know it. I was in my late 20's at that time. Sting is my man! He was such a cutie petutie! I was in love. Well, after that I became even more of a fan of Sting and the Police and Sting himself. I have just about all the Cd's. Back then there were not Cd's yet, so I had them all on cassettes and eventually I have just about rebought all of them on CD's. Both police cd 's and Sting cd's.

After that time I have talked up Sting and Sting and the Police so much that I got a few of my friends and family hooked! My mother in particular. Imagine a 73 year old women grooving to a police cd. Come to my house, you would see it! When I heard that the Police was getting back together I told just about all I knew. I was psyched! I went on line looking to see if the tour came anywhere near me and it does not! To quote those famouse words from Gomer Pyle USMC: Damn! Damn! Damn! You remember that show?

I love the Police and would love to have a copy of their new CD ! Trust me when I say I deserve it! I have sold many of their CD's for them over the years, just by being a religious player of their music for the past 20 or more years. I am their biggest fan! Here is a listing of all the songs on the new CD. I have taken the liberty to highlight some of my very favorites! You know, the ones that I know all the words by heart! How do I know these by heart? Well, whenever I go on a long car trip my Police CD's go with me. 8 hours to Florida or 23 hours to Wisconsin...you get to know all the words to just about all the songs. And so does everyone else in the car. If you did not know anything about the Police before going on a trip with me, trust me you would be intimately familiar by the time the trip was OVER! I am usually the driver so the driver decides the music! (I just love it when a plan comes together!)

Ahoy Matey's!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Shiver me timbers! I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End this past Saturday and it was wonderful. I of course went in pirate gear. Who does not dress up for a movie? It was three hours of adventure and pirates. I ate an entire bag of large buttered popcorn. That was breakfast! I know that some of the reviews are mixed. Poo Poo all you want. the movie is raking in the dough! It is another Disney hit!

Now the plot in this one was mightily involved. You really had to pay attention to keep up with what was happening. I would have no problems seeing it again! It is worth it? Yes, the movie definitely has entertainment value, adventure, love and of course pirates! Savvy!

Dental Visits

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

When I was small I hated to go to the dentist. All those shiny metal probes. One of the things I realized quick was that you had better brush well. The more you brushed the less you had to go. So I began an avid brusher, morning, night, every meal and in between. I rarely had a cavity. I had a good dentist who realized I was nervous in his chair. Good dentists or even good doctors who have a good bedside manner are hard to find.

I think that if you are looking for a dentist, you will need to investigate Hayfield dental care and check out charles brown dds pc. He might just be one of those good dentists. Located in the Alexandria area, he has been at Hayfield for the past ten years. He has done many root canals (oh joy!), crowns and other surgical procedures. Now I have had a root canal and I had to be put to sleep! Dr. Brown is very experienced and is very qualified. He has even been recognized by his peers as he is listed as one of the regions top dentists in his area of Washington. All the doctors at Hayfield are highly specialized and can do most dental work without referring you to another office.

Dr. Brown is accepting new patients and if you have that dental emergency he can accommodate you as well. For more information, please contact him at Hayfield Dental Care at 703-971-2220. You might just be able to find a new "dental" home.

Odd News of the Day

Now this is something you would not even think exists...vats of fish feces?

Rescuers cut through a filtration tank of dense fish feces to reach four workers who fell into the sludgy dung Friday while cleaning the 18-foot tank at a western Massachusetts farm.

The workers became trapped for 45 minutes after a bracket holding a plastic filtration pad collapsed as workers stood on it to clean the fiberglass tank at the Australis Aquaculture fish farm, said Turners Falls Fire Capt. David Dion and the fish farm's manager, Josh Goldman.

Bats in the belfry! Be sure to check your attic from time to time!

An upstate New York couple didn't think a few bats in the attic were much of a problem when they were buying a house last summer.

Months later, they found out how wrong they were -- when they discovered more than a ton-and-a-half of bat droppings up there.

Nick LaBoda and Jenna Caputo say a home inspector informed them about the bats. They called an exterminator, who told them to wait awhile before removing the bats because the babies were too young to fly.

Two hearts are better than one! Now this story I really do not think is right. That heart was in another person's body already. I would think that it would need to be checked out. Who knows what the person who had it did as far as upkeep of his own health once he got it. Plus all the drugs to stop rejection. This does not sound like such a good thing.

Two months ago at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, surgeons removed a transplanted heart from a patient who had died and re-transplanted it in another recipient.

"To my knowledge, this is the first time this has been done with a transplanted heart," Dr. Lawrence S. C. Czer, medical director of the center's heart transplant program, told Reuters. "Even with other organs, repeat transplantation is very rare."

The second patient was a 45-year-old man with noncompaction syndrome, a rare cardiac condition in which the heart assumes a sponge-like appearance. The disease is progressive, and the man's heart became more and more disabled despite the best medical therapy.

The king and queen of thugs are at it again. Bobby GET A JOB!

Bobby Brown is suing ex-wife Whitney Houston and seeking to change the terms of their custody arrangement for their 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

In court documents filed in Orange County, Calif., Brown, 40, says that financial and emotional problems prevented him from filing a response to Houston's divorce papers.

"After Whitney and I separated, I had nowhere to go and very little money to live on," Brown states. "I was, for all intents and purposes, homeless."

Software Security Solutions

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

We live in an age where the matrix is real. Computers just about run the world and us. With those advancements in technologies comes risks and anomalies, just like Agent Smith. He was a virus in the matrix that kept replicating.

Today when companies or businesses have security problems they can look to NOD32 for a solution. No more hacking into the matrix. They offer a layered security system that is comprised of several components to offer the best protection for your systems. There is not one software product that can do everything. Especially in todays climate where hackers look upon hacking and causing disruption as a badge of honor. Firewalls, anti spyware, anti virus and exploits all meshed together is making Nod32 the leader in security for home and office.

With all these "protectors" in place your computer will always be in a state of readiness to fend off viruses, worms, trojans and spyware. Look to NOD32 for your computer security needs. They have developed the best blended solution to all the blended security threats that could attack your home or office computer system.

Enjoy! I sure did.
This was my very first attempt at using Youtube as well. So far so god. I just need to get a good video camera. I was using my little digitial camera. It has a record feature. That was my first time using it a well. I really need to get out the instruction manual again and read all the features that my camera has. It has lots of buttons that I do not use.

Fighting Over Vivaldi?

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Who gets into a fight at the symphony? It is not like it was a truck rally and everyone is drinking beer! I can't believe it! Did one thing the note was allegro verses not? A whole and not a half? Bass clef and not treble? What could have resultedin a fight at the symphony?

Concert-goers, and even Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart, were caught off-guard when a fight broke out on opening night at usually sedate Symphony Hall.

Television video of the fight Wednesday night showed two men struggling in the balcony -- one with his shirt pulled off -- as several people stood around them.

Lockhart briefly halted the performance, which featured singer-songwriter Ben Folds, while the men were escorted out.

Out of the need to have a job done the right way, Accounting Paradise was born. This was a company created specifically for small businesses that offered payroll and accounting services. If you business is new, you may want to start with quickbooks on line and as your business grows, then continue a bookkeeper in the same local as the business. The service is inexpensive so it will not crack the budget of a fledgling business. The reason why quickbooks help so much is because all the work is done remotely, which keeps cost down. They also have a payroll system in place that begins at only $6.00 per employee per month. It is full service as well encompassing direct deposit, year-end filings and w-2 forms. If you are a small business, instead of hiring another employee, consider Accounting Paradise. They are an asset to the small business owner.

Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I finally got my copy of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne today. I have been on a waiting list for about a month. It ws finaly my turn. CRM

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Customer relationship management or crm is one of the keys to success when it comes to sales. Companies sometimes spend thousands of dollars implementing CRM software, but often times many of the features are not utilized. Aimpromote goes a step beyond just the software. They are actually setting new standards that are changing the ways that businesses manage their sales teams.

The system can be tailor made for your business so that the sales process is more automated leaving the actual business of sales to the employees. How? Well in two main ways. They are with the sales management features and the sales force automation features. With the sales management feature it will allow you to take a snapshot in time of your entire sales force to see who is excelling and who is not as well as where and why.

With the sales force automation features, the system generates automated tasks based on sales or that leads condition or status at the time. Employees are free to work leads rather than a lot of smaller, mundane tasks. It is all about the bottom line and the bottom line is sales. Aimpromote takes the best part of CRM and systematically shifts the focus from applications to following leads which in turn generates sales. You can't go wrong with that!

Can President Bush be any more embarrassing? How could he botch his greeting with the queen. You would think that he would have people to help him get it right. This is even worst than Richard Gere and his kiss. You can kind of excuse him as he is not the head of a country. World leaders would expect other world leaders to know the correct protocol. Let's just all hanu our heads in embarrassment!

The Fish Are Biting!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I was at the beach one summer in water that was about knee high. I was standing up. I sat down. All of a sudden I was surrounded by fish! Fish that were biting me over and over. They were grey and about the size of my hand in width and length. I jumped up screaming and ran out of the surf to get away from them.

Normally fisherman are trying to find the fish. The fish don't just come and find them to be caught. Now that day, I wish I had a pole with me. If you are a fisherman with bad luck, you might need to check out the products offered by Raymarine . I think that if you did use some of the electronic plotters and/or navigators fishing might just be easy. They offer some of the best, time tested brands out there that will surely give peace of mind while you are out on the open sea, or lake or river. I think that these "fishing toys" would be beneficial to everyone, whether the professional bass fisherman or the weekender out in his boat fishing.

They have all your needs whether it be a compass, batteries, a radar or a GPS. They have it all . The fish are biting. Just make sure they are biting at your line. Check out the Hummingbird or the Furuno Fishfinders. The Furuno Fishfinders range from $216.00 right up to the deluxe model for $2730.00. So all budgets can be accomodated. The Hummingbirds are just a little less, but not that far off in price as the Fururo. The products found at Raymarine will help assure that the fish are biting your line and not me. The best thing about it is that they are also at a great discounted price.

A day at the beach is a wonderful thing. I was having a very bad morning due to the evil one. I was able to escape for about 3 hours and I went to the sea. I have found that if you take all bad things to the sea, you can leave then there in the depths of the deep! Deep breathing and focusing the wind and the horizon made me a new woman. Her pettiness was washed away and it did not matter anymore. Now shallow some people are.

I wallowed in the waves.
I blew in the wind.
I grew dizzy watching water swirl around my ankles.

I was.
The.
Sea.

And it was me.
I was the sea.
It emptied me.
It filled me.
It happied my soul.

I flew like the birds.
I captured the wind.
I rode on its' roar.

I was the sea
and it was me.

I.

Was.

Reading is Fundamental

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

My child was a preemie baby who came three months early. Only by the grace of God did she come out healthy and perfect in every way. She was just very small. I was still a scared mother. I feared that she might have some sort of learning disability that would not show up until later or when school began. I was blessed that way as well. She is fine. She did develop at her own pace which was not at the pace of normal babies with a full term. She walked and talked a little later than the norm and while the doctors assured me that was okay given her size, it was a concern to me.

I have a friend who also had a preemie baby who did not fare as well as I did. Her child does have some educational difficulties as the result. She has put her child into tutoring programs to help keep her on track or at least get her where she needs to be. Specifically she has a problem with reading and her mother got her a tutor with Sylvan.

That is not the only learning center out there. If your child needs reading tutors I would suggest Score Educational Centers. They apply an approach to learning that makes it fun for the kids to learn. Not only will the children benefit from keeping up with their work, they will also get ahead so that they can achieve their academic goals. They use a hands on approach that includes coaching, reinforcement and adherence to a curriculum that is taylored to the needs to the child.

Score has been around for the past 15 years and serves children from Pre-k up to the 10th grades. An education is something that no one can take away from a child. A good one is the key to all future success. Be sure to check out Score Education Center if your child needs assistance. They even have a free academic asssessment to help you decide the best course of action for your child's future.

The Horrible Itch

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

When people today hear the word, "Arachnophobia", they think of a preposterous Hollywood movie, but arachnophobia is a very real, serious problem for many people. It can become an obsession, affecting their everyday lives in unimaginable ways.

I have seen the movie and it makes me crazy. Spiders make me scream! Just thinking about them makes me jumpy. Even now I am jumpy. I remember when the fear set in. I was in 2ND grade and it was a Saturday morning. I woke up and had a slight itch in my head. I scratched my head off and on that morning. I had an itch that would not go away.

Okay...I did not comb my hair right away. The Saturday morning ritual was cartoons and then breakfast. And then even more cartoons. The itch persisted. This may sound like a spider urban legend but is is not. It is real. It was real.

I finally wanted to get to the bottom of that itch. I got a comb and tried to comb my hair. Maybe it was dry and it needed some oil on it. There was a small lump or what I thought was a knot of hair caught in my comb. I pulled and it did not come out. I decided to try to separate the hair and untangle the knot. When I put my fingers up there on the right side of my head. I felt movement. Small leggy movement. What the hell was it? I began to scream at the top of my lungs. My mother came running. It was a big ole' nasty spider. (I feel something moving right now in my hair. I need a drink..now!)

A big old spider was caught in my hair and he was moving those legs trying to get out of my hair. I continued to scream. (I'll be back, I am going for bourbon and ginger to calm my nerves...I kid you not...I am freaking out right now.) I could not get it out. I ran for scissors. I would cut it out. My mother grabbed the scissors and would not let me do it. She had my father hold me down and she worked on my hair. My father held my legs and arms and I continued to scream. This was no little spider. This was a big spider that had been in my hair I guess all night and was not all tangled up in my hair. I could still feel it moving. I screamed and my mother got a big book from the book shelf and said she was going to smash it. She could not get it out. It would have to be killed first and them removed.

Spiders Snap, Crackle & Pop!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

What do spiders sound like when the walk on your eardrums? They snap, crackle and pop. this boy found that out when he had an earache and went to the doctors. They found live spiders living in his ears. Can we say gross and when was the last time he had a bath and washed his ears? I would be terrified! His mother should be appalled. They had made a home in his ears and were living there! They weren't little either! Now his mother has taken them to work as show and tell. How clean is that house? I would have to think really hard about sleeping there. Or eating there for that matter. Yuk!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
What began as a faint popping in a 9-year-old boy's ear -- "like Rice Krispies" -- ended up as an earache, and the doctor's diagnosis was that a pair of spiders made a home in the ear.
"They were walking on my eardrums," Jesse Courtney said.
One of the spiders was still alive after the doctor flushed the fourth-grader's left ear canal. His mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear -- "like Rice Krispies."
Dr. David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.
When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.
Jesse was given the spiders -- now both dead -- as a souvenir. He has taken them to school and his mother has taken them to work.
More Schooling
Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.
I lived in North Carolina about 18 years ago and was in the process of applying to graduate school at Duke University. I began taking a few night course in math to get those skills sharpened. Me and a calculator were one. I was going to go back to school on a part time basis and get a masters degree. I was unable to get that because my circumstances changed. I got married instead and started a family. So here I am many years later still wanting to get that masters. Now you can get them online. Something that was not really happening back 18-20 years ago.
I really feel that having that degree will make me just a little more marketable. An online degree from Capella University is par for the course. Companies like Johnson and Johnson and Farmers Insurance have snapped up graduates who have completed the course. This is an accredited school with five main areas of study to choose: education, psychology, business, human services and undergraduate work. Like schools you physically attend they also have access to financial aid so that you can attend if money is an issue. The school itself has over 18,000 distance students so that has to say something. Capella currently offers 82 graduate and undergraduate specializations and 16 certificate programs.
Getting more education is not limited anymore by money or time. With the courses being online, you can work at your own pace to get your advanced degree. It will allow a good balance of work and home. Online learning can be done using any internet connection, anytime, anywhere. (I want to spend the day at the coffeeshop with a lap top. That is my ideal learning classroom. ) I would be able to download assignments, read and contribute to class discussions whereever I was. If I had questions, I could contact faculty members and advisors via e-mail.
Now the kids are teens and I have time. I now can go back and get that advanced degree. One thing my mother always said growing up was that no matter what happens, get a good education. No matter the circumstances, noone can take that way from you. She was right in that respect. Capella also believed that as well. After reading this sentence on the site, "The value of a Capella University education can be measured in many ways—from professional benefits like increased earning power to greater marketability in the workforce," I know they think the same thing. Jobs can come and go, but an education never leaves. You can always use that education to propel yourself upward into a new place in life.
Think about it. I am. I think now is the time for me to go back to school. There is nothing stopping me now. I have the time. I just have to put forth the effort. Check out online learning with Capella. More education can be life changing and only for the better!
A Sunday Cup of Crazy
Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.
Last Sunday I got up to go to church like any other Sunday. I proceeded to get ready to go and I noticed that my mother was not getting ready. It was about 20 minutes before time to go and I asked her if she was going. She was not and the sunday cup of crazy spilled over. She began to rant about all sorts of things that made no sense at all. Well she was mad and decided that she could not go to church that day because of me. She said I had snubbed her the sunday before because I did not sit by her in her Sunday school class. Now this is a class that she has been going to for over a year by herself. I joined in the last 6 months. I sit where ever when I walk in. Sometimes I sit by her, sometimes I sit by others if I have a few words to talk with them about before the class begins.
Well, crazy came out last week and mom decided that she was making a new rule. I must sit right next to her in class. Can we say ridiculous? With a capital "R." This is about control. She does not want me to socialize and have fun with friends or other people. So she is trying to control me socially. I told her that if I needed to talk with someone I was and I had something to say to the person I sat down next to that morning. She kept insisting over and over that Ihad snubbed her. I was not going to apologize because I had done nothing wrong. I finally said whatever and walked away. But it got so much worse than you can imagine...she began to throw up things she did not like about me from high school and imagined things that she said I did to her back then. It was insanity materialized. I walked away.
Well, yesterday was of course Sunday. What did she do? I got up, got ready and she was milling around doing nothing. I did not ask her if she was going. Just got ready. She is a grown women with a grandfather clock. She knows the time. Well, what she did was get ready at the last minute so that we arrived 20 minutes late. That was also a control tactic. If we get there and the class has begun I won't have time to speak to anyone. The minister teaches our class and he hates lateness. I went to class and she decided she was going to the sanctuary. Why? Who knows. Well, she arrived 10 minutes after I did.
We are not joined at the hip. I will not comply with her rule that I must sit right next to her at all times. It does not make sense. I can't get up and speak to other people when I need to . Control. Those games are not working anymore. Next Sunday, if she is not ready to leave home at the right time. I am leaving without her. I am not going to be late again because of her game playing.
