Well, let's just say that computers and the less internet savvy elderly do not quite mix. I would have to say that was true of some of the elderly that I know. Like my mother. I have showed her several times how to turn her own computer on and she can't recall if a lot of time has passed.
She rarely uses it now, but I wish she could get a little more
internet savvy. She is much happier with me
looking up things for her.

I really feel that the best way to get an education including a graduate degree is to keep going and don' t stop till you get it all. Otherwise you will be like me wanting to get a graduate degree now in my 40's. I just wish I had gone on and attended grad school right after college. Well, that is water under the bridge now. For adult students like me, there are many schools with adult education courses. So I do have the opportunity to go back.

One such school is Capella University. They have an online degree program that is accredited nationally. They offer full graduate programs in business, information technology, human services, and psychology. They have all I would ever need as far as getting started. Their actual mission is to extend high quality degree programs to adults wanting to obtain master degrees. This will allow me to go off in a new path. I want a new direction.

My mother said that no matter what happens in this world, an education is something that noone can take away from you. Capella has learning on line that fits when my schedule allows. I can load up programs, study and take test 24 hours a day. Capella currently offers 82 graduate and undergraduate specializations. I should have no problem improving my marketability in the work force. I might just get a few extra benetfits also. If you waited like I did to engage thoughts about graduate school, wait no longer. Girls Feet Severed at Six Flags

This is one of the most terrible stories of accidents on amusement rides. I just can't even imagine having both feet cut off. I will be saying prayers for her and her recovery. I hope they were able to re attach her feet. She will never be the same even with reattachment. Let's just say she and her family are now millionaires many times over and they deserve every penny. Not that I am against the amusement park. It is just that she has a catastrophic injury that is worth a lot.

Police confirmed that a girl's feet have been cut off at Six Flags' Kentucky Kingdom. Officials said they got the call around 5 p.m. Thursday, and both her feet were detached at the ankle.

According to MetroSafe dispatch supervisors, the girl was riding the Superman Tower of Power, which is 177 feet tall and drops riders at 54 miles per hour. According to Kentucky Kingdom, the girl was injured when the ride malfunctioned.

A cord wrapped around the 16-year-old's feet and severed them at her ankles while she was on the "Superman Tower of Power," a police dispatcher said. The girl was taken to a local hospital.

The incident took place shortly before 5 p.m. ET, according to Six Flags spokeswoman.

The ride was shut down and will remain so until a full investigation has been completed.

Reno 911! Miami The Movie is now out on DVD. Have you picked it up yet? Well you had better. You want to know what cops gone bad look like , just in case you need to help yourself. If you call for help and they come to your aid, you want to know that...really! Get ready to laugh your head off. The movie is centered around Reno and their crazy police department. They are called in to stop a terrorist attack during spring break that takes place at a national police convention in Miami. Can we say slap stick!

Reno 911! Miami The Movie is put out by Fox and is based on the Comedy Central series. That I did not know as I have not seen any of Comedy Central. I am too busy watching sci-fi. On the website Fox has added 4 computer games related to the dvdthat are pretty cool. Check out the upper right hand corner and you can play too. I played Midnight Shootout because it looked like the easiest of all. Just point and shoot and try not to hit the civilians or the police officers. The game itself has 5 rounds with a different weapon each round. Here is my score and weapon per round:

• .44 caliber S & W special 300 points
• .357 magnum -100 points (that was a bad round)
• desert eagle 650 points (I made up for that last round)
• Ak-47 1000 points
• Rocket Launcher 2500 points (I did not so good with the rockets. I burned the whole city)

My grand total was $4350. For a first time playing I think My score was pretty good. Play some games on the site then run out and get Reno 911! Miami The Movie. It just might be the perfect movie for a saturday movie night!

I recently saw the movie called Shine. Shine was made in 1996 and it is the true life story of David Helfgott. I must say that it was a tragic, riveting movie. It was so very sad. I cried or rather I tried to hold it all in. There came a time when I could do it no more. When David, played by Geoffrey Rush, cried on stage after he had overcome his illness and was on his way to playing concerts again, I had to let it all out. It was the climax of the movie. It was beautifully done and the music was excellent. I can see why it won an Oscar. Coming from parents who were just as toxic as David's was, it was kind of like seeing some of my early childhood. (Thank god I was stronger than he was..no breakdowns here.) If y ou have not seen Shine, it is a movie worth seeing. Check it out!

After doing a search on spiders of the Amazon, I found out all sorts of lovely things. Tarantulas are eaten by many people there. Some tarantulas are the size of blue crabs on up to a 12 inch pizza pan. Some are even bigger, like the goliath bird eating tarantula. Imagine how big if they are eating birds. These spiders are roasted over an open fire until cooked. Legs are cracked open like crabs and eaten and then the body is eaten. The needlelike long fangs are used as toothpicks by the villagers who eat them.

A Culinary Disaster

This is a culinary disaster not of own. I made a wonderful dinner on yesterday that would last about 3 days as leftovers. Barbequed chicken baked, rice and green beans. It only had 20 minutes more to cook and I had to leave to go out. I asked my mother to watch it for me and just to turn everything off at 5:20m. How hard is that? Not very. She did not have to watch anything, stir or check anything. Just turn everything off. It was all on low and at the end of cooking.

Well she did not do that. She let it burn up and when I got home this was waiting on me. Her note of explanation and the chicken. I know that this was done on purpose as she has done it before. This is just one of many times she has done this. Whenever I make something and ask her to turn it off she ruins it OR if I make something and it is done she will at times alter it in an effort she says to stretch it or improve it. It is just something to ruin whatever I make. She only does this when she is mad about something and the something is normally something most imaginary. It is nothing based in reality.

Am I cooking anything else today? Hell no. She is on her own for food. I will eat out by myself! A nice meal at a restaurant.
