Whole Earth Didgeridoo

I recently was given this CD, Whole Earth Didgeridoo.  It is amazing!  I have always been a fan of world music and I love this one.  I have always loved the didgeridoo and the sound that it makes.  This CD combines the instrument, vocals and other percussion instruments.  Rhythmic and rustic, the music takes you to a place that is of the earth.  Timeless and boundless.  I am putting this CD on my top ten CD's of world music.  Right up there with Baka Beyond!

A Musical Trip

About a month ago I took my daughter to the local music store.  It was like going back in time.  It took me straight back to high school and my college days.  As soon as we walked in the door the smell of incense filled our nostrils.  I remember nights with friends and even boyfriends relaxing with drinks and burning incense.  Days of old.  My daughter thought the incense was very nice.  We went to check out all the "flavors".  We even bought three sticks of incense.

We began to walk around and of course there were LP's everywhere.  I had to explain what they were to my daughter.  She thought they were very large CD's.  Talk about generation gap.  There were many great rock hits and LP's that were rhythm and blues.  Great hits like Earth , Wind and Fire.  Great tunes.  There were music posters.  I do not think that kids nowadays really buy posters the way my generation did.  I remember having music posters of all my idols!  My daughter was interested in the Bob Marley posters.

We spent about an hour there looking at posters, records and smelling incense.  A trip to the local music store can be quite an outing for the kids and a trip back in time for you.  This weekend I will finally burn some of the incense I bought that day.  Peace out!

Beverly Sills : A Great Voice Silenced

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

There are some people who seem to defy old age and the ravages of time. Beverly Sills was one of them. It is difficult to accept that she is gone so soon, of lung cancer, at the age of 78.

She was one of a kind, an American diva who demystified opera and made it accessible to a wide audience. Her buoyant personality and self-deprecating sense of humor were as much assets as her brilliant coloratura soprano voice. When that voice became unreliable with age, she turned to mastering administrative skills and fundraising for the arts. Full Story

Sting Revisited

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Dreamy isn't he! Just look at Sting! Just dreamy! He still is handsome and he kind of looks ageless. The Police are back together and I am of course elated! Sting was my first love before Yanni!

I was searching the web and came across this interview with him when he was on Oprah a while ago. It still is a good interview. So be sure to check it out.

Now I did not remember about the tantric sex thing until I read it again. What exactly is it? I will have to look it up. I only know very little about it. The basics?

TANTRIC SEX is meditative, spontaneous and intimate lovemaking Through it you learn to prolong the act of making love and to channel, rather than dissipate. potent orgasmic energies moving through you, thereby raising the level of your consciousness. Tantra transports your sexuality from the plane of doing to the place of being. There is no goal in Tantric sex, only the present moment of perfect and harmonious union. Tantra teaches you to revere your sexual partner and to transform the act of sex into a sacrament of love.

The Police are Back!!!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

The very first time I saw Sting and the Police was live back in the late 80's in North Carolina. I was living in North Carolina in Chapel Hill and he came to town. It has been so long I cannot be sure of the year. I lived in North Carolina from 1985-1993. I was in Chapel Hill for the first three years before moving to Durham, so Sting had to be in town in either 1985, 86 or 87. I just can't iron down the year. Prior to that I was a lover of new age and jazz and was just thrilled to death to see Sting live.

I got to go free. My best friend was married to a policeman and he had to work the concert that night. Lucky me, got to go free as of course his wife got in free and so did I. I was mesmerized. Sting and I got married that night! His wife Trudie just does not know it. I was in my late 20's at that time. Sting is my man! He was such a cutie petutie! I was in love. Well, after that I became even more of a fan of Sting and the Police and Sting himself. I have just about all the Cd's. Back then there were not Cd's yet, so I had them all on cassettes and eventually I have just about rebought all of them on CD's. Both police cd 's and Sting cd's.

After that time I have talked up Sting and Sting and the Police so much that I got a few of my friends and family hooked! My mother in particular. Imagine a 73 year old women grooving to a police cd. Come to my house, you would see it! When I heard that the Police was getting back together I told just about all I knew. I was psyched! I went on line looking to see if the tour came anywhere near me and it does not! To quote those famouse words from Gomer Pyle USMC: Damn! Damn! Damn! You remember that show?

I love the Police and would love to have a copy of their new CD ! Trust me when I say I deserve it! I have sold many of their CD's for them over the years, just by being a religious player of their music for the past 20 or more years. I am their biggest fan! Here is a listing of all the songs on the new CD. I have taken the liberty to highlight some of my very favorites! You know, the ones that I know all the words by heart! How do I know these by heart? Well, whenever I go on a long car trip my Police CD's go with me. 8 hours to Florida or 23 hours to Wisconsin...you get to know all the words to just about all the songs. And so does everyone else in the car. If you did not know anything about the Police before going on a trip with me, trust me you would be intimately familiar by the time the trip was OVER! I am usually the driver so the driver decides the music! (I just love it when a plan comes together!)
