Corned Beef Hash

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I went to a Christmas party tonight and all the food was gourmet. So gourmet, there were little Christmas balls that were card holders to tell everyone what the thing was that you were eating. It was all so rich and beautiful and foofoo. The food was wonderful. I am really all about foofoo, but sometimes you really just want to eat real food and chow down. Not just get a little dab of this and a little dab of that and move those little dabs around and leave half--good party behavior.

The best think I had tonight was a peice of hazelnut dome cake. It was to die for. But it was such a little piece. I will be trying to hunt down that recipe. But in the meantime, I just came home and I am hungry. Are you supposed to be hungry when you leave a party where there is tons of pretty food? well, I have the solution for that. Corned Beef Hash. I have opened a can, heated it up, covered it in catsup. Now that is a meal. My feeling of hunger is quickly leaving. Hungry after a party? Eat some hash. Really , REALLY hungry, have some hash and grits!

Tomorrow at work, we are having the same sort of party. I spent about $225 today on the corporate credit card to buy party food for the office. We plan to set up a snack area in the break room so people can get a little snack and eat at their desks. I bought all of my favorite foods. I got goat cheese, gorganzola cheese, brie, sliced cheese trays and some other sort of italian hard cheese. I got sliced italian cold cuts, spinach dip, marinated atichokes, olive tapinade, pineapple, strawberries and grapes. For desserts I bought a pumpkin cheesecake, tiramisu, key lime pie, caramel apple pie and a pecan pie. Sodas are the drinks. A little foofoo, I know. I hope that there is some left over. I get to take some home! Plus I can eat! No little dabs to move around on the plate and leave half. If I get a hunk of tiramisu, believe me I plan to eat it all!

Chocolate Buckeyes!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

One of my friends makes the best buckeyes ever! She makes them every Christmas and gives them as gifts. She makes them for every party. They are yummy and did I say they have cocolate in them? Chocolate! This year she said that all her grandkids teachers from last year have put in requests for this year. So she has the double load. To make them for the current teachers and last year teachers. That should tell you how good they are.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 ounces plus 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups confectioners sugar, about 1 pound
  • 1/2 cup very fine graham cracker crumbs
  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

PREPARATION:

With a wooden spoon or large mixer with paddle attachment, beat peanut butter, butter and vanilla until smooth. Slowly stir or beat in confectioners' sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Mixture will be dry, but will hold together when shaped into balls. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls; place on wax paper lined cookie sheet and chill in freezer or until firm.

Melt chocolate chips over hot water. Spear a peanut butter ball with toothpick or dipping fork and dip ball into the chocolate to cover most of it. Place chocolate side down on cookie sheet. If desired, leave the top uncovered to resemble the Ohio buckeye nuts. If desired, drizzle more butter over the balls to fill in gaps made by toothpick or dipping fork. Refrigerate buckeyes for about 2 hours or longer, or until the chocolate is set. Store buckeyes tightly covered in refrigerator or freezer.

Makes about 5 dozen buckeye candies.

No Hoax Here!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

PayPerPost is the real deal. I came across the link by a random search. I had heard about people blogging for money, but never knew how it worked. I had never even come upon a site that explained it. So, one day PayPerPost was googled up and everything changed. I was still sceptical. How would that work? I read the instructions and it seemed simple enough. So I tried it. I liked it and it is not a hoax. You really do get paid to blog. So far I have been paid $117.10 and will be paid $113.10. It is real. It is worth it! It has been a savings to me as it can be used to supplemeny my income.

If you are thinking about this: blogging for money -- please check out the link! You will not be dissapointed! Instead, you will get paid! Who can't use a little more cash this time of year? Lord knows I can after the crazy mad shopping spree I have been on for the last three weeks. I need an intervention! Make your own decision. But I guarantee, if you do decided to try, you will love it, just as I do! PayPerPost rocks!

Christmas Party

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I went to my bible study Christmas party tonight. It was great. Each of us had to bring heavy hors dourves. We had peeled shrimp and salad with ginger dressing, ham, watercress and onion biscuits, onion and cheese dips, all sorts of sweets and for the big finale...I brought my chocolate fountain!

I filled it with warm chocolate and we dipped pretzels, potatoe chips, fresh pineapple, bananas, graham crackers, cherries, marshmellows and cookies. By the time we ate all that chocolate, we were all just about sick. It was addictive. We ate and dipped and dropped chocolate all over ourselves and the counter. It was all about the chocolate.

We exchanged wonderful gifts and laughed and talked and we had a wonderful time. My big gift was a crimper. It you could only understand. It was the best gift I could get. I have been wanting a crimper all year and have been coverting the crimper of one of the ladies in my group! LOL! We had a great laugh when I pulled my very own crimper out of the gift bag. I promptly began to crimp all the paper in the nearby vicinity!

It was a lovely party! Good friends are such a blessing.

Jingle Cats

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Here they are again! Check them out. I must say they are cute! I am a cat person and my cat is the head of my household, but she is not cooperative in any way shape or form. Could I get her to sing with the music? No! The only thing she meows for is catnip. I keep the bag on the book shelf and when she wants some, she will go to the bookshelf and meow at the tops of her lungs. Then I get up and give her some. It is the only way I give her some. I only wish my cat has cat talent like these. I might be able to strike it rich with my cat songs! Maybe that should be something to look into into 2007. There is even cat dancing. I have looked at the cat dancing books at Barnes and Noble and that looks even more impossible. I think I could --maybe--get my cat to meow by withholding cat nip.

Alien Adoption

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I've seen a ship. A real UFO ship. That is my story and I am sticking to it! It was the spring of 1979, my first year of college.

I was visiting a friend of mine at her campus--the University of South Carolina. We were walking across campus around 7:00pm on our way to dinner. The sky was dark and clear. It was a cloudless night. I have always been a stargazer so as we walked across the bridge that took us to the cafeteria I was looking up in the sky. I noticed a small elliptical object hovering in the sky. It was very bright-much brighter than anything else in the sky. I at first thought it was Venus but it seemed to be in motion. I stopped walking and looked really hard. It was in motion.

I asked my friend to look in the sky as I pointed to what I was looking at. All of a sudden before she could even look around and find what I was pointing at, that ship winked out of sight. In the night sky it was about the size of a penny. All of a sudden it just streaked away until it got as small as the head of a pin, then got smaller and was gone. Just like that! It just winked out of sight. In less than a second.

My friend did not see what I saw. It was gone to fast. I know that whatever was in that ship knew that I saw it and did not want anyone else to see it, so it left. Ever since that day I have had this odd feeling that that ship could come back for me at any time. That feeling has never left me. As I read books and information about aliens and abductions after that day I came to realize that aliens are real.

Now through the internet, you can have your own pet alien of sorts. Check out Alien Adoption World Collectors Kits. I watched the video and it is kind of cool. I think my nephew would like one of these. He is into star wars and sci- fi. You add water to the tube and the alien comes to life. There is even a heart that begins to beat. There is the on-line site were you can interact with other alien enthusiasts and even record what your alien is doing in the lab. The adoption kit contains two aliens, 2 video games, an alien head gurglin keychain,a certificate of authencity,&feeding materials called sloog,nutrients for your alien grow in size inside the tube.After few weeks your alien grows to adulthood.

Believe it or not, it can make it to your house by Christmas! Orders placed By December 19th will arrive in time for Christmas. The collectors kit with two aliens & membership to premium website filled with games and more features, and a bunch of stuff for just $40. Check them out at Alien Adoption World. This is a numbered limited edition kit that is only made availble through the adoption world website.

You know, this is the only alien I want to see. This kind and the ones on television. The one I saw in the night sky so long ago on my way to dinner? Please...I do not want that opportunity again! EVER!

Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I went to my church's advent gathering last week and one of the many activities we did was this Christmas Carol quiz. I thought it was pretty neat. Can you fingure out all the answers? Now the kids could not get any of these. It really is a quiz for the adults or maybe older teens. I went this afternoon to see The Nativity Story. That was an excellent movie! The people were actually the correct color..brown and middle eastern. The movie was very authentic and really explained the life of the people at that time and what people assumed about Mary when she came back home pregnant. The movie was a beatiful one, the way it was filmed, the angles, the music. All was good. I plan to run right out and buy it once it comes out on DVD. I loved the wise men. They were the comic relief!

Money Saving Advice

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

The new year will soon be here and it will be a time for a new beginning. My spending is out of control as you will remember from the post a few posts back about my attempts at christmas shopping. (I only bought myself a $10.00 candle today and 6 things for other people.) After this month I will be on a shopping diet. I would like to actually sace some money this coming year.

I think the ability to save money had a lot to do with will power and I seem to be lacking in that department right about now. Luckily I am not the only one with that problem. There are millions of others out there with the same lack of will power. There are many ways to get help with that. For example the Thrifty Scot. The Thrifty Scot offers advice on how to save money using credit cards , loans, mortgages, bank accounts and insurance.

I was reading this clip from the site and realized that my bank has the same sort of savings plan. I have not looked into it, but that too might be something to do in 2007.

In February next year, Lloyds TSB are introducing “Save the Change”, a scheme to help Britons save. The basic theory is that when anyone taking part uses their Lloyds TSB debit card, the amount of the transaction will be rounded up to the nearest whole pound and the change will be swept into a Lloyds TSB savings account at the end of the day.
The site has a lot of information abotu savings. Be sure to check out some of these links!
Here's to better and more financial planning in 2007. No more wild spending for me. This year Christmas has just about done me in!

Ahmet Ertegun Dies at 83

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Ahmet Ertegun, who helped define American music as the founder of Atlantic Records, a label that popularized the gritty R&B of Ray Charles, the classic soul of Aretha Franklin and the British rock of the Rolling Stones, died Thursday, his spokesman said. He was 83.

Ertegun, a Turkish ambassador's son, remained connected to the music scene until his last days -- it was at an October 29 concert by the Rolling Stones at the Beacon Theatre in New York where Ertegun fell, suffered a head injury and was hospitalized. He later slipped into a coma.

"He was in a coma and expired today with his family at his bedside," said Dr. Howard A. Riina, Ertegun's neurosurgeon at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Ertegun will be buried in a private ceremony in his native Turkey, said Bob Kaus, a spokesman for Ertegun and Atlantic Records. A memorial service will be conducted in New York after New Year's.

City Of Angels

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I once saw this movie some years ago and thought it was a beautiful movie. Then I forgot the name for several years and could not remember it. Then I googled it up and finally after about 2 years of wanting to buy it, I did. I bought the movie City of Angels about 2 weeks ago. I finally watched it this morning. I woke up at 7am and popped it in. I have watched it three times today. It is such a beautiful movie. I just love everything about it. I have always believed in angels being near to us. I can feel them at times.

I love the innocence of the angels and that fact that they covet human life. Some do. I think that I feel the other way around. It would be great to be an angel. The fact that they live in the library is amazing. I plan to go to my library and check out A Moveable Feast by Hemmingway. I can't wait to get it.

If you have not seen this movie, I recommend that you do. It is a beautiful love story, sad at the end. I hate that Seth did not have more time with Maggie. But that in itself is the beauty of the movie. City of Angels. It makes me think of angels in my local library.

Will Power!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Will Power! Where is it? God knows I do not have any. I have been shopping under the guise of buying for others, yet the bags for me are biogger and heavier than the bags for others. I thought I was bad last year, but I am most definely over the top this year. Just in the last week, I have tallied all the things I bought for me when I was supposed to be shopping for others. Let's look at the scores, shall we?

Yesterday: I went shopping for a Jim Shore statuette for my bible study friend.
~~~~~~~~~~
Friend: 0 gifts
Me: 2 Jim Shore statues for myself. Jiminity Crickett and a cat
Yesterday: I went shopping for an Itune card for a cousin
~~~~~~~~~~~
Cousin: 1 ITUNE card
Me: The Santa Clause 2 DVD, Kingdom Hearts for PS2

Yesterday: I went shopping for chocolate for a party where I am bringing a chocolate fountain
~~~~~~~~~~~
Party: Chocolate for the chocolate fountain
Me: Designer Hot cocoa for me, a bag of chocolate for me, 4 gold rimmed martini glasses, 4 gold rimmed champagne flutes, 4 gold rimmed highball glasses. (They were on sale! How could I pass them up???)
Last week: I went shopping for a wrap/cape for my aunt to wrap up in
~~~~~~
Aunt: 0 wraps
Me: A wonderful pair of black leather gloves with silver fox cuffs. Boy I love those gloves!

Trust me when I say the list goes on. In the past two weeks I have bought more for me than anyone else. At this rate, I will have no money left for gifts for anyone! Next year I will go back to what I have been doing for the past 7 years in regards to shopping..shop all year beginining in January. I usually shop all year so that when October comes, all is done except for the wrapping. I wrap by Thanksgiving and gifts are just stored away in closets waiting for Christmas day.

I really have to get serious. This shopping for me is way out of control. In fact, I think I need an intervention...seriosuly! I will be glad once this Christmas is over!

How are you paying for Christmas?

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Well, I have bought some gifts, not all. I need to buy about 4 more gifts for the friends in my bible study. I have some cousins and neices I need to buy for as well. For the most part I have used cash. I did use plastic , just a little. I am trying now to pay some of my Credit Cards off, but when it comes to that must have item, plastic is the only way to go. I remember when I first got out of college, I had one card. Since then I have had all sorts of offers. A lot of things come in the mail that look like a bunch of junk mail.

How do you select the right card? Be sure to read all the fine print. That is critical when it comes to fees and interest rates. Check out CreditCardSearchEngine. It is the best way to compare and make the right choice for your budget when trying to choose a credit card. There are credit cards for people with all credit types. Categories include: Low Interest, Cash Back, Rewards, Airline miles, student, business, and credit cards for bad credit. Credit cars for bad credit..that is something new. I guess that is a way to help rebuild a good credit record. That takes time. Student cars? That can be tricky. If you leave college with a lot of debt, that can take a while to make that go away.

Christmas is coming and will soon be here. Come January, what will you be thinking? Thank goodness for plastic or thank goodness for cash? I will be thanking both.

Winter Beaches

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I love going to the beach in the winter. I had the chance to go to Hilton Head Island last weekend and it was bitter as far as the weather. It is cold at night at the beach. We walked for about 3 miles during the day and I found some lovely shells. My girlfriend wanted to go kayaking. Kayaking when the temperature is 23 degrees. Now I am up for an adventure but not one at 23 degrees. I had to tell her heck no! In the summer and spring, no problem.

I heard over the weekend the recently fired Star Jones has a new job on the radio. She will be hosting a radio show... like a talk show on the radio for several weeks. It is not a permanent job. She has lots of options I am sure.

More Holiday Savings

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

The coupon fiend in me again has raised its' head! Check out these coupon codes! I love book store and can spend hours in Barnes & Nobel and BooksAMillion. I go in for one thing and come out with many. SO many books, so little time. There are wonderful copons for BooksAMillion here. They are even having a sale now that will allow 80% off some prices.

If you scan the site, you will see all a large variety of merchants to choose from. So many stores, so many coupons. There is even free shipping on orders of $25 or more. That is a deal! Sometimes shipping costs more than the item you are buying . I have found that out the hard way. So I buy more to make that coupon worth it.

All this talk of coupons is making by ready to shop. Plastic in one hand and coupons in the other! See you at target, coupon in hand!

Rumors!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

At work we have something new. New and crazy! The rumor box. RUMOR BOX? Yes, a rumor box. In an attempt to stop rumors that run rappant all over, the higher ups have decided to put out a rumor box. If we hear a rumor that we want validated or not validated, we are to write it on a piece of paper, put it in the box and then management will collect them weekly and dispell the rumors. I think this is the most lame thing I have ever heard of...a rumor box. The only thing I think it will do is have people talk more to see if it should be placed in the rumor box.

I heard a rumor today but it might be true. Beyonce and Jay-Z getting married this weekend. Supposedly Beyonce is throwing him a birthday party that is supposed to turn into a wedding. They have been together for a while now. It might be time for them to get married. We will see on Monday if wedding bells realy rang for them down in Anguilla. Check out this article about them getting married. Is Beyonce Getting Hitched?

Savings for Holiday Shopping!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I love a sale and if there is no sale I love a coupon to save me some money! Now the bad thing is I do not do so well with coupons at the grocery store. I love Coupons for department stores and specialty shops. They are great this time of year. I recently found out about NCNatural coupons. There are great savings on some really great name brand products like Dell and one of my favorites, Old Navy! I love that store when it has a sale.

I remember a few years ago one of my nephews only wanted Christmas gifts from Old Navy. He had an Old Navy Christmas from me. And of course what is shopping for others when you can't buy for yourself? Not fun! I buy one thing for someone else and two things for me. One for them and two for me! See...that is hwo to shop.

Be sure to check out the various coupons on the site. Thye change daily so new things are always being added. You really can save money with coupons, so if you are not a coupon shopper the time to start is now. It will let you buy maybe "three" things for yourself with the extra money. The layout is great so you can scan down the list, find the coupons you need and then head straight to the store! I just saw a coupon for Plow and Hearth! I love that site. I have been getting their catalogue for the past 6 years. Clip those coupons and get to shopping!

Party Time!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I am going to a party this weekend.. Black tie! I have found the perfect evening dress. I cannot wait, I am so excited. It is the same black tie party I have attended for the last three years. I look forward to it every year as it is the only time I get to wear an evening gown. I love feeling like a princess for a day. I love the swirl of wearing a long dress, holding a glass of the bubbly and dancing the night away! I keep trying to think of ways or places I can work an evening gown into everyday things. Church? Can you wear an evening gown to church on Christmas eve? Or to a holiday concert at a church? I think I can get away with it around Christmas. Last year I was too scared to wear one. This year I am. I have all these long dresses now collecting in my closet. I only wear them once to the party. I want to be able to wear them more than just once! All that money for one day!

When I was in my 20's I used to wear tea length dresses on evey holiday and at home during the holidays. It was as close as I could get to an evenign gown. I loved it. People would come over and there I was in my gown. They would be in jeans. But that was okay wiht me. It was all about me, being a princess during the holidays. I am in full process mode now. I have gotten to the place where it does not matter anymore. I can wear what I want when I want.

I just wonder how people will feel when I pull out my tiara! I have a co- worker who --if she had had a bad day of work--- will put on her pajamas or her jeans after work and get her beer or cocktail and her tiara and put it on. When she has a bad day, on goes the tiara. She has told me that on many a day her husband has come home to find her polishing off a beer or two wearing her tiara. Not a princess at work, but she WILL be a princess at home.

Princess Power! It is all about that. Evening gowns and tiaras!

Photoworks Coupons

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

The holidays are almost here and it is normally the time my family takes pictures. I remember taking group pictures at Christmas and Thanksgiving and having to get lots of reprints from those kodak 110 cameras that were so popular so many years ago. I still have my 110 camera. I do not think they make film for it anymore though. It is an antique now. Now we are in the age of digital cameras.

For family pictures this year, if you do not have the capability to print out using a computer, try Photoworks Coupon for sharing those family pictures with everyone. The coupons really are a savings. You can even get 30 prints free with one coupon. I was impressed with the free photo cards. Those would be great for christmas. I have sent picture Christmas cards in years past, but I have not done it in a while. I was thinking about it for this year, but it may have to wait as I would have to fine the perfect place, pose, setting and the time to send cars out is NOW! That might be a project for next year. I can get the cards now and will have them for next years.

Check out the site. There are lots of coupons that will save money on digital prints. Just print them out and use at check out. Easy as pie!

Juice: It Does a Body Good

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I have had a juicer for about 6 years now and I think the motor is about to wear out. I looked at some juicers at christmas and ended up deciding to wait. The one I have still has life in it but it tends to leave just a little more pulp than it used to. I like to juice but it seems to take more time than making a dinner. Now that is most likely all in my head as all I need to do is cut up fruits and vegetables. I know it takes more time to make a full course dinner. Must be a mental block.

I do feel better when I drink juice. It fills me up and you can get several, maybe even 4-5 servings of veggies in in once glass. I went shopping last week at Cosco and found some premade juices there. Bolthouse Farms is the brand name. The juice is 100% natural and so easier that juicing your own or it would work when you are in a rush. I bought the Green Goodness and the Carrot Juice. The carrot is wonderful. I love it. The Green Goodness is good but it is a little thick. And so pea green in color. I took some to work and people were horrified at the way it looked. I had no takers when I offered some to my fellow co-workers.

Last night on an infomercial I saw the new juicer by Jack LaLanne. You can put whole fruits in it. No more cutting things up. I think I will be getting that for Christmas also. My old juicer is worn out. The fact that no cutting of fruit is required is a no brainer for me. That was a deterent for me. It took a lot of time to cut up the fruit and vegetables. Now, the cost on t.v. was more that what the cost is on the site. I think that I even saw that juicer at Target. I will have to check that out as well. It might even be cheaper in the store. That will be what I check on at lunch Tuesday.

Juicing does make a big difference in how I feel. I feel so much better when I do juice. I know I am at least getting two nutricious meals a day by juicing.

The Love of Posting

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

While blogging hs always been a love of mine, I really did not know about PayPerPost until recently. Now I had heard about blogging for money but did not really know anything about it oand I have never looked into it. I was not looking for it when I found it. I was actually doing a search for something else and PayPerPost, ads on blogs, came up. I book marked it to come back to later and was I happy I did.

I read info that was on the site and thought, this can't be true! If I post, following the requirements, I could get paid for blogging! I thought that I would try it but I was still leery. Would I really get paid?! It is a reality! I love it! It is an easy system to implement and it does increase traffic to my blog. I write about web sites, products, services, and companies and earn money for providing reviews, opinions and valuable feedback to advertisers.

I am a newbie still and am still reading things in the forums to figure things out. So far so good! PayPerPost is a wonderful opportunity for anyone out there. It combines two things I love, blogging and getting paid!

Pirates of the Caribbean

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I cannot wait! My favorite sequel will be on sale later today! I have always been a Pirates fan. When I went to see the movie I went dresed in pirate gear! Yes..I am not crazy . I just believe in having little fun. I was not alone. There were others dressed in pirate gear and a few dressed in long antebellum dresses like Elizabeth. For halloween this year I was a pirate as well.

I watch the first Pirates of the Caribbean at least once a month. I can almost recite the lines with the actors. I think the movie will be a Christmas present from me, to me.

Tummy Honey

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I remember when I was pregnant with my child. I got all the cremes and cocoa butter and still I was so dry and uncomfortable, it just about drove me crazy. I was worried about stretch marks but I guess I was a little more worried about getting enough moisture in my skin. I have always been a fan of cremes and lotions and I just about keep Bath and Body Works in business. I remember not having a lot of money when I was pregnant , so I did not have as many cremes and things then. I used a lot of cocoa butter. I always smelled like cocoa. That got to be just a little annoying.

There are lots of things on the market for stretch marks but this is something new: Tummy Honey. Tummy Honey is all natural, hyperallergenic and even contains ingredients to help fade stretch marks. Tummy Honey Cream is for fading existing stretch marks, typically 30-70%, either during or after pregnancy. It contains a key plant extract clinically proven to help fade stretch marks called Strivectin. I have not heard of that. Have you? For more about the company origin, check out the link. Tummy Honey is at a great price. Only $19.95. I might be worth it, so be sure to give it a try. It might even make a great gift for a pregnant mother for the holidays. The price won't break the bank! Mother's will retain the beauty during the pregnancy.

Burping in Public

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I have a friend who I have just begun to know in the last 6 months. Well, I guess she feels comfortable around me now as she has begun to let out big burps whereever she is. She has never done this before. I am grossed out. I am beginning to be turned off. Spending time with her is not so pleasant anymore. Burping in public just grosses me out. Totally. Now while I have never said anything to her about it, it makes me sick as if we are out in a restaurant, out comes a big loud burp. Others in the group have had kind of looked at her when she does it but that means nothing. Coming up in January, my girls have planned a weekend retreat and she will be there. I would have to spend the weekend with someone burping all the time! How will I stand it?!

Time Keeps on Ticking, Ticking, Ticking

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Time. I never have enough. There is alway too much to do and so little time to complete the task. At work they have us work a calendar system, a task system and a message system to help us manage our time. I think we spent too much time working all those systems than doing the actual work.

Time Management is important or things will snow ball and get away from us. If we are organized time management completes the curcuit of a well oiled machine and we can get our work done. Be sure to cheek out the link on Time Magement. Here are some of the benefits.

Time management helps you:

  • Reduce or eliminate wasted time and effort so you'll have more productive time each day.
  • Improve your productivity so you can accomplish more with less effort.
  • Focus your time and energy on what is most important.
  • Make time for the things you want and value.
  • Improve your performance while reducing stress.
  • Find greater balance and fulfillment.
  • Set and achieve your long-term goals.
There are even books and tools to keep you at your top peak as far as time.

Saturday Night Laugh-IN

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Saturday I went to Target to get a few things. On the way out I decided that I needed some green tea. We went into the food sections and found some Arizona tea and some other tea called Tea's Tea. Tea's Tea---it would be the tea that tea would drink if it drank tea! I looked at it. It was a nice big bottle for $2.59. I had never heard of that brand before so I read the label. It said "out of a rumled tea pot, beside grandma's barn, whistling in the wind." Now common sense would take over and scream, put that back. I ignored common sense. I decided try it. It might be good. It was some off brand but it just might be good???

Well I had almost decided against it when I put it in my cart. I rambled up to the check out and was in line. I noticed there was something else on the label. It contained some very long word that began with a "C" that you could not begin to pronounce. In addition it stated that this word that began with a "C" that you could not pronounce was still under study for health benefits. I read it again. Target was selling some unknown off brand swill that was still understudy for health benefits by scientists! You could only see the vapor trail behind me as I flew back to the food aisle and put that back! No tea still understudy was going home with me.

The cashier laughed at me. They I begna to laught and in just a short time, it was so hilarious that both of us were hysterical. We laughed till we could laugh no more. I grabbed the Arizona tea, checked out and went home.

Did I mention that I did purchase some sparkling pink lemonade from France? It was right next to the Tea's Tea. It was some off brand too. It happens to taste pretty good. Will I buy it again? No. I'll stick with the tried and true!

An Alternative Way To GO!

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

About 4 years ago I think it was...that was when the razor scooters were all the rage. My nephew got one for Christmas. He loved it. He loved it so much he decided to go down a hill in his development. Unfortunately, that was a bad decision. He was going so fast he could not stop and ran into a tree. He broke his leg. He was in a cast for about 6 weeks but when he was all heeled up he then switched to snow boarding. He did use his razor scooter again but no hills!

Around the same time I saw people riding electric scooters as well. Now those look like fun. There was a laot of talk about them in the local paper and then it was decided they could not be used on the side walk. Also there was all the hype about the Segway. the police here use them. I would love to try one of those things! They have them at Walt Disney World at Epcot. I would love to try that thing out! They look like fun!

There are all sorts of alternative transportation out there. For example: Motor Scooters! These are not legal for sidewalks where I am, but they sure look fun! On Fast Gas Scooters, there are quite a variety of scooter styles along with the features and prices. Be sure to check out the site for all your scooter needs. The site also has a parts page if you need parts to repair or replace what is broken. In the case of purchasing there are pages that will let you do a comparison of benefits and prices so that you can make the correct choice of alternative transportation or just something plain fun to ride.

In addition to scooters, there is a cool Pocketbike that looks like fun! They have electric bikes as well. Now I have seen people riding in traffic with these. Let's not forget the go-carts. That is a throw back to my childhood. My brother used to be all about go-carts and making them when he was in elementary school. They were the wooden kind way back then. Please take a gander around the site. Urban Scooter even has a warranty on the products and customer service is available if there are any problems. Happy Scooting!

The Doldrums

Snapshots In My Time...
Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I am down in the dumps. I am not sure why. This week was a very busy week at work. It is all so tiresome...work is. Plus it seems I do not have one minute for myself. It seems that all my time belongs to others. I do not get enough sleep and when I am awake, there seems no time for me. I am finding that I must begin to say "NO!" I am one who finds it very hard to say no, so many times I over extend myself. I feel like that now. Tomorrow I agreed to do some charity work at church, then I have to go to my parents and I am supposed to take part of the dinner. Why did I say I would do that?

I have to get ready for sunday school on sunday...read the lesson and answer questions and then attend a christmas party sunay afternoon. Then I get back in the hampster wheel called work and run and run and run some more. Monday night is bible study. This is the holiday season adn I must say this has been the busiest one I have had in about 8 years.

I always longed for more people in my life, places to go, more social outlets. I have that and why am I complaining? I long for the solitude I had before...just for a day or two. That is all. Just for a day. Next weekend it is an out of town Christmas party. And during the week nights this week I have bible study on Wednesday. There is not time.

I got some good advice on yesterday. Someone tole me to, just go to bed. Turn off the tv. lights, no reading, just go to bed. I did that for 2 nights this week and I felt a lot different the next day. The sleep deprevation was not so bad. I can still fall asleep if I close my eyes for about 5 minutes, but the extreme exhaustion is not as bad. I plan to do that. got to be and to somehow fit in a nap during the day. I am getting older. I need it. I need to just go to bed.
